Championship clubs Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County are facing sanctions for breaching financial rules, reports claim.
The potential punishments come after Birmingham City were hit with a nine-point deduction on Friday.
The Blues were the first club to be penalised for breaking the English Football League̢۪s profitability and sustainability rules that were introduced in May 2017.
The Championship club have dropped from 13th to 18th in the table and are now just five points above the relegation zone.
And now, big spenders Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby could also come under â€Å“serious†scrutiny from the EFL, according to the Daily Mail.
Aston Villa̢۪s new owners were warned immediate action was needed to avoid breaching profit and sustainability rules when they bought the club last year.
To avoid a similar punishment to rivals Birmingham, they might have to sell star man Jack Grealish, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League since Villa̢۪s relegation to the second tier two seasons ago.
Sheffield Wednesday reportedly need to balance their books after a three-year spending spree, while Derby are also suffering huge monthly losses.
