Manchester City may need to sell Gabriel Jesus to land Atletico Madrid’s £61million-rated star Rodrigo, according to reports.
City have emerged as the favourites to sign the 22-year-old holding midfielder, but Atletico are keen on Jesus as a replacement for the departing Antoine Griezmann.
It could mean the La Liga giants demand the Brazilian striker comes as part of any deal for their talented Spaniard.
Rodrigo has made 48 appearances in his debut season at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium and has been compared to Barcelona midfield maestro Sergio Busquets.
Guardiola is keen to sign another holding midfielder to compete with Fernandinho, who missed the final four games of the season with a knee injury.
With Griezmann set to join Barcelona in a £104million deal, Atletico will have funds to spend and The Sun claim they have identified Jesus as an ideal replacement.
Despite playing second fiddle to Sergio Aguero in the Premier League and Champions League, Jesus netted 21 goals in the 2018/19 season.
Most of his playing time came in domestic cup competitions and he started and scored in Manchester City’s 6-0 thrashing of Watford in Saturday’s FA Cup final to win a historic treble.

Jesus, a £27million signing from Palmeiras, has netted 45 goals in 100 appearances since making his City debut in January 2017.
Meanwhile, Benfica are reportedly thinking of almost doubling Joao Felix’s £100million release clause as interest in the wonderkid increases.
City, Barcelona and Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old, who scored 15 league goals to help Benfica win a 37th Primeira Liga title after finishing two points ahead of Porto.
Felix, an attacking midfielder, became the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the Europa League in a 4-2 win over Frankfurt last month.
