An unnamed Manchester United player has allegedly complained about Marcus Rashford and his newfound arrogance.
The striker was unable to help United succumb to a 2-0 derby defeat to rivals Manchester City on Wednesday night which could have huge ramifications on the title race and the race to qualify for the Champions League.
And, if reports from The Independent are true, it could partly be down to a fractured dressing room.
It is claimed that ‘it is no longer the singularly focused dressing room that Solskjaer had in the wake of the optimism generated by his initial appointment’, while a team-mate reportedly thinks Rashford is ‘not quite the humble figure he used to be’.
Afte Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho at United, the striker enjoyed a sparkling run of form – scoring six goals in 10 games.
But the England international’s form has begun to suffer and Gary Neville fears ‘something is not right’.
He told Sky Sports: “Marcus Rashford, this couple of weeks, has been nowhere near [his best].
“I went to both Barcelona games. Marcus looks off it at the moment. Whether he’s carrying an injury, something’s not right, or the season has caught up with him.”
Earlier this month, reports suggested the striker was set to agree terms on a five-year deal which would see him earn £70million, a figure which looks ominous after Wednesday’s performance.
Second-half goals from Bernardo Silva and substitute Leroy Sane killed off a fired-up United side at Old Trafford and took City back above Liverpool at the top of the table.
City, who have won their last 11 league matches, now lead the Merseysiders by a point with three games remaining for both sides.
United meanwhile have lost seven out of their last nine games and are facing the possibility of Europa League football once again next season.
