Maurizio Sarri believes he ‘deserves’ to stay with Chelsea after guiding them to Europa League final success with a crushing 4-1 win over Arsenal.
The Italian claimed the first trophy of his managerial career as Chelsea won the competition for first time since 2013.
Despite finishing third in the Premier League and appearing in two cup finals, winning one, the former Napoli boss has faced considerable criticism this season.
There has been plenty of speculation over his Chelsea future in recent months and the 60-year-old is being tipped to succeed departing manager Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus next term.
However, after victory in Baku, Sarri, who took charge last July, feels he should be allowed to continue his role at Stamford Bridge.
“I need to talk to the club and make sure I know what I can do for Chelsea and what Chelsea can do for me,” said Sarri.

“I love the Premier League and I’m lucky I’m at Chelsea but at the end of each season you have to sit down and talk.
“In my opinion, I deserve to stay at Chelsea but my opinion is not enough.”
While Sarri was hinting at staying, Eden Hazard appeared to be bidding farewell netting twice in what looks to be his final game before moving to Real Madrid.
“I think it’s a goodbye,” he told BT Sport. “But in football you never know.
“My dream was to play in the Premier League. I think it’s time for a new challenge.
“I’ve made my decision. Now it depends on the clubs. Both clubs. “You will know in the next few days.”
Following Hazard’s admission, Sarri said he respected the player’s decision.
“Eden is an unbelievable player,” said Sarri. “You need two or three months to understand him as a man, but when you do, he is a wonderful man.
“I knew he wanted to leave, but I want to respect his decision.
